Tumblr seems quieter of late. Uncertain if that is just because a lot of folks don’t use it for WoW writings or just the people that I follow have gone dark.
I need some new blood to follow I miss seeing my dash covered in stories and character aesthetics.

My RP nuances are… extensive. To pick just one is very difficult.
People who take themselves too seriously? I mean we all have to maintain self-respect and we don’t want to have our image slandered. That being said, we are here to essentially play pretend. We all make our characters and dress them up and tap them together to kiss. That’s it, that’s RP.
Now don’t get me wrong, it rocks ass. It’s a ton of fun. But it’s still play time. On that basis, people in many cases need to relax a bit on their expectations. It’s okay to lose time to time. It’s okay to laugh at yourself. You don’t always have to take you and your characters so seriously all the time. It’s exhausting, for you and for others.
Remember we are all here to play. So just play, yeah? Don’t tie yourself up in nonsense. And relax those shoulders and unclench that jaw. You’re fine. Laugh it off, and just go with it.
Oh man, that’s a tough one. Mostly tough because it is hard to explain these sorts of things without getting into names and specifics.
I’ve had a few instances where my character gets -really- involved with another character. Things are going well, life is good, the RP is great, relationship solid. Then OOC fallout happens and suddenly you need to look at your character and bullshit a reason why their totally stable and happy relationship just fragmented. I hate doing that. It feels clunky. To this day those parts of my characters feel patchwork, because they are. Not fun.
Best thing? Gunna cheat. My guild, of course! Fun fact, Coldwall actually failed at first. I made it initially when I was still a part of another guild. They did not like it, and after their rejection of the idea I disbanded it and just gave up on the idea entirely. After I left that guild I was sort of directionless and a good friend of mine encouraged me to try my guild idea again. I did, recruited my first members, haven’t looked back!

I love Wyrmrest Accord’s alliance community with all of my heart. But I feel like I keep seeing people who I considered ’pillars’ of this community move over to Moonguard, leaving the server a little more barren and a little more in control of certain questionable parties. Before I would just say it is a fad, but now? Now it is a trend going on for more than 9-12 months.
If this is the way, then this is the way. But doesn’t mean it stinks less. :(
Then again, I’ve kinda abandoned WRA myself, mostly existing as a hermit. So I cannot justifiably say I am making things better. But that fact does not diminish the sting.
Leaving the server was a much harder decision than I thought it would be, honestly. To the point where I ended up holding officer meetings far more than I needed to simply to ask again: do we really want to move? WrA has been my home all my RP career. And my WoW career at that. Sure on some level it’s ‘just a server’ but.. it was my server, you know?
As someone else pointed out, the memories are not the server. The memories are the people. As time passed I recognized less and less faces. The big guilds I used to adore seeing around were no longer there. I realized that I was holding on to a memory, as dramatic as that is, and not recognizing that the server had simply changed.
There are some amazing writers on WrA. Some amazing guilds. And a few people there that saying farewell to was extremely difficult, even if I still have them on the likes of discord.
But ultimately, we are following the RP. Many people left for MG pre-expac and now have no reason to come back. They are established on MG, have connections, and are back to loving what they do.
It was one of the harder decisions I have made to move. Especially the guild. But ultimately, at a certain point, we have to look at things for what they are and not what we wish they could be.
Attention friends and loved ones of the Coldwall Collective!
For five and a half years, Coldwall has been proud to serve WrA in our capacity through public events and roleplay encounters. In that time, we have witnessed fantastic things, been involved in brilliant events, and had the pleasure of interacting with some people and writers we will always remember.
However, with the launch of Shadowlands we have noticed that the server is not what it once was from our perspective. While there are still some fantastic guilds/people here, the life in the server has dimmed. This is not directed as a means to insult WrA, but more to acknowledge that it can not provide what we, as a guild, seek in our environment.
After much discussion across the officership and members, the decision has been made for the guild to move to Moon Guard.
We understand this decision is a fairly big one, and it is one we did not make lightly. It comes with all associated concerns and a healthy dose of nervous energy to boot. However, we feel that MG, especially with a large influx of former WrA members, is a server that can provide the environment for our members and subsequently our guild to expand, enrich, and thrive.
To everone on WrA. This isn’t goodbye. With how easy it is to cross servers, you will still be able to attend most of our public events and say hello. We are still going to be the Collective you know, so you can always feel free to poke us, say hello, or seek out ways to RP.
To everyone on MG. We know it’s your stomping grounds. We are not about to go in there and throw our weight around. We are ready and eager to provide the events, quality, and characters that people have come to expect from us. We are looking forward to what we can bring to MG, and what MG can offer us as well!
